CENTRO CRIOLLO DE CINCIA Y TECNOLOGIA
CAGUAS, PUERTO RICO 2010
ICT Caribe L.L.C. specified PROSPEC Level Set Wear Topping in gray as a new decorative floor
surface at the new Science & Technology Musuem in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The existing concrete substrate floor from a previously
demolishes building was maintained and the new Museum was built over it. The old floor was uneven, out of level, very rough
and damaged by the demolition process. There was also a problem with Moisture Vapor Emission from the old existing slab. The
flooring applicator installed Koester VAP 1 2000 moisture barrier system to mitigate the moisture problem. After priming with
Koester 06 primer the crews installed 5000 sqare feet of PROSPEC Level Set Wear Topping in Gray at an average of 1/4".
This Cementitious floor topping took only a couple of hours to install and provided a 6000 p.s.i. perfectly smooth and level
flooring solution. The creative floor pattern designed by CSA Group Architects & Engineers was cut into the floor with
diamond blades the next day. Brass parting strips were installed and the floor was stained and then sealed to create a beautiful,
highly durable surface for the Museum to display. The floor is truly a work of art in Caguas.
OLD SAN
JUAN PIERS PROJECT
The
peirs project was ideal for the use of ProSpec SureCoat Crystalline Waterproofing. The fountains and planters were formed
with cast in place concrete then coated with SureCoat Waterproofing to stop any moisture seepage through the walls. The finished
product is a beautiful plaza space inviting people to enjoy the repurposed piers at the Bahai Urbana area of Old San Juan.
